Platform
I recognize that I am running for a 1 year position on the Select Board which has 3 members. While a quick solution might not exist on issues facing Ashburnham residents, I'm committed to finding the best path forward.
Open Communication
No more backroom deals. Decisions affecting our lives will be made transparently, with clear explanations for residents. Regular updates will become the norm. I will advocate for regular public updates. For grant proposals affecting town assets, I believe in involving stakeholders in key discussions and providing regular public updates to ensure informed decision-making.
Respect for Our Seniors
The current state of the senior center is unacceptable. We need a dedicated, well-equipped space for our valued elders, not a storage room on the second floor. In the short term, we can look beyond the senior center for activity spaces. School gyms, community centers, and even parks could all be possibilities. By creating opportunities for interaction between generations, we can foster a more vibrant and connected community for everyone!
Accountability
The people who work for Ashburnham – our committees and staff – are the backbone of this town. We need to support and empower them with the resources they need to succeed. I will work to develop and align measurable goals for all with a commitment to evaluate and recognize progress.
Investing in Our Infrastructure
Our roads, water systems, and sewers are aging which not only costs extra but also can't handle future growth. We need a serious plan and investment to modernize our infrastructure and to publish this plan. Reporting safety concerns and repairs should be easy! I'll support clear and accessible channels for reporting, with a prompt response system in place.
